A microbrewery not to be missed ft "After Stories"

Gurugram, the city already brewing with microbreweries, brings to us a wonderful and unique one which not only serves unusual collection of beer but also serves the best blend of Indian and continental food. Me and Utsav joined After Stories, for the perfect lunch date to enjoy their amazing gourmet and beer.

This is located behind IIFCO chowk or near MG road metro station, in sector 29 and is a three       storeyed microbrewery with a homely decor and nice wooden work inside.

A beer lover, After Stories brings to us the best range of beer - Milk Stout, Belgian Wit Beer, Cyser, Apple Cider, Peach Ginger Melomel and Lime Ginger Melomel. My absolute favourite was Lime ginger, with a perfect strong blend of lemon and ginger in a fizz and milk stout which was a dark beer. Along with the beer, we gorged into some amazing starters like crispy potato, nicely cooked and bell peppers tossed in wasabi sauce, Achari paneer tikka, deep fried paneer big chunks of panner served with coriander chutney and deep fried fish balls. All of them were cooked well and very crispy.

After starters, we indulged into main course. One thing for sure is that this place is a heaven for vegetarian and non-vegetarian lovers. As an ardent non veg lover, we tried the lemon basil fish, tossed with bell peppers and Thai chillies, slow braised lamb shanks with blueberry rice, my favorite dish and very well cooked, with blue colored textured rice well cooked spicy lamb in rich gravy, traditional Goan fish curry, spicy blend of coconut fish curry with curry leaves and steamed rice. In the vegetarian category, we ordered Tom Kha soup, a simple Thai soup blended with vegetables,Maggi smoked mushroom ragout, highly recommended with fried maggi topped with creamy mushroom gravy and cheese balls and Ratatouille lababdar curry.

We ended our lunch with desserts - coconut and lemon grass panacotta and tiramisu kahlua soaked lady finger. Both of them tasted exquisite and the presentation was par excellence.

Final verdict - I would overall rate the restaurant a 5/5 for the quality and quantity of food and the unique beer taste. The chef,Mr Praveen was extremely hospitable and treated his guests with a lot of care.I urge you to definitely go and try this microbrewery asap.
