BEACH IS BAE ft BALI, Indonesia

Hey guys,
Thinking of international travel but low on budget? I have a great option for you which has beaches, babes and beer! And if you love culture and tradition, then nothing better. It is quite AFFORDABLE too. One of those holiday destination where the Indian currency has 'higher' value in the markets.

So we visited Bali,Indonesia for our holidays in November for five days. No we were NOT there to celebrate our honeymoon (like every other Indian couple). Utsav and I visited Bali with our friends and it was a roll. We stayed at the exquisite suite room of the Grand Hyatt resort,Nusa Dua beach(we had some travel points) but Bali has several good resort options which can easily come under 10-15,000 INR/night.You can go cheaper but I recommend travellers to stay in a good resort with private beach. Our flight from Delhi to Bali was via Singapore. It is a 8 hour journey.

The island is quite well spread out and the temperature there ranges from 20 to 33 degrees celsius. It is extremely humid and just like any other tropical beach destination,Bali is rich in flora & fauna. It is an extremely clean and developed island with well made roads and great transportation facilities, good eating outlets and better shopping places (both local street shops and malls). One great recommended place to shop is 'Bali Collection' located in Nusa Dua.

The first day we rented our motor bikes (costs only 5$ for a day) to roam around the island and we visited Nusa Dua beach,Garuda Wishnu Kencana park(which has one of the largest statue of the Hindu Lord Wishnu and Garuda),Padang Padang beach and visited the Uluwatu temple and beach during sunset (you MUST visit this place). The sunset view from the high temple peak is breathtaking.
They also perform the Balinese dance in an amphitheatre over looking the sunset view from the peak.
All the temples charge a minimum entry fee and they provide a sarong to tie in case your legs are exposed to maintain sanctity of the place. We ended the day with some Balinese cuisine - Nasi goreng and drinks.

Next day, we booked a cab because the heat killed us.So we chucked the idea of a scooty. Yeah no amount of sunscreen or scarfs can protect your from the scorching heat and sun tan.We visited the Goa Ganja elephant cave temple(you can skip this one) and did bit of shopping in the local market there.Next we visited Tegenungan waterfall in Ubud which is a must visit and we enjoyed our time there but it was exhausting to go near the waterfall and climb up all those steep stairs. You will take atleast 3-4 hours to cover this place. We ended our evening by viewing the sunset at Tanah Lot temple beach. This was again a beautiful place and we spend a lot of time with the beach waves.Another highly recommended visit in the evening.

On the third day we chose to chill in our huge resort, stroll by the beach, shop in the local market and just drink & dine.In the evening, we visited the Devdan dance performance which is the Balinese cultural dance performance and it was an entertaining show. After a day's rest, we dedicated the fourth day to just beach activities - we did sea walking, banana boat ride and para sailing adventure (just 55$/person).

On the last day, before leaving the resort, we quickly wrapped up some last minute shopping from Bali Collection. Shopping is a must here - very cheap home decor & accessories, wood carvings, paintings, fridge magnets(as usual), puppets, clothes, jewellery, miniatures, dolls and so on.

So overall we had a great time and definitely our resort added on to our joy.Now some important pointers. Kindly carry a good DSLR to capture great pictures because topographically,Bali is exquisite.

Some good CAMERA options here -

Carry just comfortable clothes & sleepers.

You can carry USD and exchange currency in Bali, plenty of options in the market.
Try Balinese food - they are delicious. It is non veg paradise.Beware of monkeys in the temples.

It is more of a relaxing vacation spot and not a lot to explore unlike Thailand(Phuket), so have that in mind. So now plan your next destination! Watch the Bali vlog here
